Broadcast #1: "Tinder"

Saninsakin!

Just 17 days remain until The Mirror Eater's first part is released!

Part one contains over 20,000 words and the entirety of the first day (out of three).

We've updated the page to include the new trailer (rather than just the announcement) alongside screenshots from the first part.

The smaller nature of TME means there'll be fewer devlogs, so we may as well toss in some concept art–otherwise, it'll just take up space collecting dust!

The earliest concepts for Wren, the protagonist of TME, were initially intended for a sequence in Episode 2 of S&M, but we quickly realized that it wouldn't provide us the space to tell the story that we wanted to.

This is part of a much larger overhaul that we're working on for Özbey, which will culminate in revisions being made to portions of his story as told in Episode 1 of S&M–these updates are planned to be part of our efforts during the summer, when our schedules clear up a bit.

The piece above is another early concept, and is from when we were still working out the environment we were aiming for. You're likely to notice differences between it and the final piece based on it that appears in TME–notably adjustments to scale, and detailing on the trailer.

A number of changes were also settled on for Özbey's character and general demeanor, alongside updates to his design. During our summer update spree, we'll be sure to reflect this in his S&M depiction!

Last–but certainly not least–is the concept for Sandu, the third and final member of the TME cast. He's been a character that we've had set aside for a rainy day for quite some time (having his origins in the long-scrapped 'The Journeyers,' as mentioned in some of our S&M devlogs.)

There's a lot more to cover, but we don't want to spoil portions of TME!

What we will say is that TME draws deeply from our hometowns, with various elements drawn from their histories, especially those of the PNW and rural Alaska–from its layout to its residents, dilapidated state, and lore of the town itself, Tasusuni has become a love letter of sorts from our team to our roots.

But of course, even with that love, the Liu Hsin Fire is still coming…

Be sure to check back in on the 26th to grab v1.0 of TME!

'Til next time!
